In a quiet but feisty village in Limousin, France, is one of the liveliest, ‘jumpin’ venues ……..Le Madison in Coussac Bonneval.
Herve, the proprietor (and entertainer!), makes sure the place leaps into action on Friday evenings during July and August, with local musician, Bruno, adding extra attraction on special occasions.
Bruno is a talented guitarist and sings a vast array of songs from The Beatles , Procal Harum and many well known French songs which many of the regulars join in with.
It seems strange to me that ‘Whiter Shade of Pale’ was the first thing I heard when emerging from the metro in Paris in 1967, and I am still listening to the same song now in France 50 years later!
I have enjoyed several atmospheric evenings at ‘Le Madison’ in my short adventure of having a home here in Coussac….aren’t I lucky! ‘The long and winding road ….. leads me back …..
Thanks and ‘sante’ Herve and Bruno! (There should be accents on sante and Herve but I don’t know how to find them…. spend half my life looking for things!…..)
