Wiz Jones the Blues Guitar pioneer has sadly died just a few days  after celebrating his 86th birthday.

Another Croydon music hero, Wiz  was a major influence for many major musicians including Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richard of the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. He regularly performed on his home territory at the renowned Croydon Folk Club whose home is at Ruskin House the Grade 2 listed building on Coombe Road and was also a regular performer at the much lamented “Breathing Room” mini festivals which were held on nearby Tooting Bec Common until recently.
