Well today I attended the opening of “You’re Surrounded By Me” an amazing exhibition at Croydon town centre art gallery Turf Projects in Keeley Road. Curated by the affable and knowledgeable Chris Alton, it was quite an experience. With contributions by Katherine Midgley, Jasleen Kaur, liam Geary Baulch and Naomi Fitzsimmons there were an eclectic range of works with my particular favourite being “The Sound of music” where a chorus of nuns pondered the conundrum “How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?”
Established by creatives with a personal connection with Croydon, Turf comprises; a gallery space exhibiting work from emerging and established artists; an artists workspace and events space; and a small studio provision for artists and makers. Check it out very soon.
